The Suburbs - 1983 - Love Is the Law

I don't even remember now how I first heard The Suburbs. I grew up in the Twin Cities area, and so took a ton of pride in the local bands: Prince, The Replacements, Husker Du.. and The Suburbs were, after Prince, my first favorite. I wish I could remember. They weren't played on WLOL or KDWB, so it was an example of finding a favorite "left of the dial". I loved this band before I even heard my first Replacements album. Anyway, this band has played a central role in my life as a music fan. I always try to share them with people I meet. And those I know that already know and love them, are among my favorite people. This was the first album I ever heard by them, and while not my favorite now, it will always hold a special place in my heart. A classic example of an album I listened to to the point of not really needing to listen to it anymore. But listening to it now, again, was a pleasure.
