The quintessential album of the hip-hop slacker genre.. if that is even a genre... that is how I think of it anyway. However you categorize it, it is a classic album. It sound every bit as good now as when it was released over 30 years ago. Michael Ivey and his sidekick (not sure who he is) conjure a sort of friend/roommate situation with Ivey being the musician recording music in his bedroom while his drunk/high roommate likes interacting with him and giving him feedback and advice. Almost every song on it is good. The bookends of the album are especially classic, where he is in a live honky-tonk playing music that sort of pokes fun at rednecks. I love this album with all my heart.
