Cindy Lee is the project of Patrick Flegel, who led the Calgary-based band Women. I am not familiar with that band, though I think I need to be, because this album is stunning. Slim sent me a link to the first single, and I don't remember what it was, but as I listened to it on my phone, I laid on the floor with Bonnie and Clyde (my cats) and was mesmerized. This is a double album, and for me, it was THE summer album of 2024. It isn't joyous like being at the pool... more like being at the pool and wondering, what happened and what is next.
