Joanna Sternberg was born in NY, NY in 1991, identifies as gender neutral, is autistic, and comes from an artistic family. I was, like so many recent artists, introduced to Joanna through Amoeba's What's in My Bag. Sternberg's episode is very cool, and their enthusiasm is undeniable for the wide range of music that has been an influence. I recommend watching it. This is Sternberg's second album, produced by Matt Sweeney. Joanna's influences make for a beautiful pastiche of confessional songs that have an honesty to them that is undeniably original. A lot of Sternberg's songs would have been at home on Sesame Street in 1973, and I mean that as a very big compliment.
