The Temptations' ninth album was a turning point for the group. It was their first full album without David Ruffin, and under the production of Norman Whitfield, a step in a different musical direction. Inspired by Sly and the Family Stone, they began a phase known as "psychedelic soul". That is a pretty cool musical shift.
