Her debut. I still love Macy Gray, one of the few 90s artists who I still check out every album. She is nowhere as near as popular as she once was, but to me, she is royalty. An original personality, voice, and a sense of what I often attribute to actors like Jack Nicholson or Kathy Bates.. hear me out. There are certain artists whose vibe just make me feel as if I don't live in a completely insane world. There is a calm cool about them, a sort of inside knowledge.. think a wink.. that tells you, shit is gonna be okay. Macy Gray is one of those few for me. No song on this is amongst her top two songs, but the album altogether is a perfect example of some of the best of what the late millennium offered.
