The Korgis - 1979 - The Korgis

 

I didn't know The Korgis existed until Beck covered their song "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" for the soundtrack of the excellent 2004 film by Michel Gondry, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

That song isn't on this album, their debut, but rather on their second album. 

I have a love of music from 1979, and even though this appreciation is in retrospect, it encompasses many of the qualities that make that year in music so great. First, look at that album cover. Fantastic.

Second, it's late 70s British new wave.
