Jeff Tweedy - 2000 - Live at Lounge Ax

 

This actually doesn't even exist on vinyl, or, if it does, it is a true bootleg. This concert was all over Napster back in the day. Jeff Tweedy's wife was one of the owner's of the legendary Chicago music venue Lounge Ax. As the club was about to close, Wilco was one of the last performers, but the night before, Tweedy did an acoustic set that is one of my favorite recordings. He did some Wilco, some Uncle Tupelo, some songs from the Mermaid Avenue sessions. Even more than 20 years later, I still recommend this to people, and not just because it is becoming increasingly likely that they won't be able to hear it, but because, in a way, it is a soundtrack to some of my toughest years, and this music helped me through them.
