Kate Bush - 1985 - Hounds of Love

 

It was pretty surreal this past summer to have my 14-year-old stepdaughter digging "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush. That song re-charted higher than it dig originally due to the well-deserved popularity of Stranger Things on Netflix (I am not into supernatural TV/movies all that much, but I really like the show). I wasn't aware of Kate Bush until November 1985 when I was in London for the first time. They have those double-decker buses there and ads on the back are huge, and I kept seeing this album's poster everywhere. My tour guide... oh, Karen Power, I hope you're will (such a crush)... explained that Kate Bush was like Britain's Madonna. I bought it of course, and have been a Kate Bush fan ever since. Two go-to albums from that era if you want to kiss a girl. This and Bryan Ferry's Boys and Girls, which will definitely be featured soon.
