Julie Hoff was a junior when I was a freshman in 1984, and we connected over music. She turned me on to a lot of music. I remember I first heard Bauhaus from her. And she introduced me to Echo and the Bunnymen. Ocean Rain is, simply, a perfect album. I was fortunate to see them in Oakland in 2009perform this at the Paramount with an orchestra to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Their earlier albums are rawer and classics in themselves, but Ocean Rain would find a happy home in any music lovers collection.
