Manchester's Badly Drawn Boy (Damon Gough) released this debut in 2000, and it became a favorite for me song by song during those halcyon Napster days. That album came out the summer my marriage ended and it was a good companion through some difficult times. As with a lot of music I love, it has a somewhat sad serenity to it while also rays of optimism. "Camping Next to Water" wasn't a single from the album, but it is my favorite song, and if you've heard it - and I am guessing you have - it was likely from me. I put it on a lot of mixes.
