One of my favorite types of albums: the palate cleanser. I think Glen turned me on to his band back when this came about, and I haven't actually listened to any of their subsequent releases, but have listened to this one a lot. It kind of reminds me of discovering early Replacements albums, like they were recording this only for their fans and weren't trying to "make it". I really know next to nothing about this band, except they are a duo from British Columbia... but man, this album is fun, raucous, and makes me feel like diving into a cool lake after a sauna. Cass Lake, Minnesota. That lake has an island - Star Island - that has a lake inside of it. I dwell there in a manner. Thank you, music friends, for turning me on to such great music.
