I loved heavy metal for two years... late 1981 to early 1983... and then I got into other stuff, and even during that era, I LOVED new wave, pop and everything else I heard.
There were two AC/DC albums that were a soundtrack of that era. The first was Back in Black, released in 1980, the first album to feature Brian Johnson after the alcohol-related death of Bon Scott, who had been the lead of nearly a decade of albums. That album, the first post-Bon, is a tremendous album.
In 1981, the U.S. saw the release of the 1976 album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, which was a Bon Scott album, and featured the title track, and for 7th grade boys everywhere, one of the greatest songs of all-time: "Big Balls".
Well, time went on and I moved onto different music and like 30 years later, my friend Craig posted "Down Payment Blues" from this album on a blog collective, and Slim and I were both like "Holy fucking shit!!!"
The Bon renaissance was here. I've listened to all of the Bon albums multiple times, and this one still stands out as my favorite.
