The debut solo album from the late Jay Reatard, released four years before his death at age 29 of a cocaine overdose. I remember hearing his name and seeing posters for him when I lived in the Mission in San Francisco, but didn't listen to him until recently when I saw an old episode of him on What's in My Bag.
The music is so fun! It kind of reminds me of Supergrass, but American and a little punkier. Great songs and energy. I am sad he didn't stay around longer, but I am looking forward to hearing more of his music! This album is one of the reasons I listen to so much music... it takes sludging through a lot of mediocrity but eventually it pays off.
