Both Bowie and Iggy Pop were interested in producing Devo's debut. Brian Eno ended up producing the debut of one of the most unique bands. I still don't quite understand Devo. I like them. I just feel as if I have not graduated in music appreciation to what they did, what they drew on.. they seem truly alien. I find Kraftwerk more accessible. In a way, Devo is on a par with The Residents in my musical appreciation, except Devo is like a coy woman that seduces you before you realize she is a prostitute. Only she doesn't want money. She wants to fuck with your head.
