There isn't much to be found out about Wheatie Mattiasich out there, and virtually nothing on this album, which I got as a download from a blog nearly two decades ago. The information out there now is mainly from 2023 about the release of her "debut" album. So what is this, from 17 years earlier? A stunningly gorgeous demo (apparently) that sounds like someone inspired greatly by Elizabeth Cotton, but who quietly recorded her folk ballads in her room. I love this album. From what little I can gather, Wheatie is from either Baltimore or Philadelphia.
