They were so hyped, and they lived up to it, even given that this album, their debut had the misfortune of being released on 9/11/01. It got pulled from U.S. release because of the track "NY City Cops"... and I get that, but whatever, fuck the cops. If The Strokes only released this album, they would be so highly revered til the end of time. It just occurred to me my "fuck the cops" comment might seem a little harsh. This IS America. Freedom of speech and your guns and what not, and FUCK the police that have done heinous shit. I know there are good police.... but some of them are not just fucking dumb, but bad people. You KNOW this. I am struggling to keep it together, as I am sure you can tell.
Back to the album. So damn good.
