Old 97's were part of the "y'alternative" movement in the 1990s that, for me, revived music after grunge literally died out. Of course, the alternative country movement started at exactly the same time as grunge, but I didn't become familiar with it until Wilco's second album, Being There (1996) and by then, I was all in. This album, which was the Old 97's fourth album, but the first of theirs I had heard remains my favorite of theirs and one of my favorite albums, period.
